Hi

I have installed and tested a local postgres 9.2 installation on my webfaction home directory. I can connect to the database using psql on the terminal. I also reserved an "app" port for a custom app on the webfaction website.

Why can I not connect to the database remotely?

thanks

That's because our firewalls are filtering any incoming connection other than the ports for http, https, and the standard ports for mysql and postgresql.

For any other port, like the one your custom postgresql cluster uses, you need to open a support ticket and we will open the port for you.
