I have a client using webfaction -- they have an outside dns server and use google for their mail. I want to setup an email address mail@sub.mydomain.com. My DNS Settings are below: CNAME MX Records -- mydomain.com MX Records -- sub.mydomain.com However, when I send an email to mail@sub.mydomain.com, I get an error from the webfaction server: Am I missing a setting somewhere or are the webfaction servers simply not set up to work that way? |

If you're getting error messages from mail.webfaction.com, then I suspect that your MX records weren't set correctly at some point, i.e. you were using mail.webfaction.com for one of your MX records. mail.webfaction.com is not a MX server and will reject mail sent directly to it.
