Hi, I'm looking to install the Topincs Topic map server (http://www.cerny-online.com/topincs/manual/installing). The installation requires adding and disabling some Apache modules and the creation of a database.

Is this possible through the static/CGI/PHP app or do you think it can only be done through installing Apache & MySQL inside a Custom app?

Thanks,

Tom

Our Apache and PHP configuration should work with Topincs - all of the required modules are already active, and we're not using mod_mime_magic.

You won't be able to do that Include "TOPINCS_HOME/conf/httpd.conf" bit on a Static/CGI/PHP app - so, if that contains directives that you can't put into a .htaccess file in your app directory, then you'll need to build your own Apache as a custom app instead.

Creating a database will need to be done via our control panel.

If the TOPINCS_HOME/bin/configure script does anything that requires root privileges, then you'll need to find another way to configure Topincs.

Hope that helps!

My main question was to do with what configs existed within the native Apache so thanks for that :)

I'm pretty sure the custom Include can be added in a .htaccess file so the only thing is hacking the configure script to enable creation of the db through control panel.

Thanks for the help!
