I'm hosting few client websites on webfaction. I'm currently building a mailing list app in Django so that clients can manage mail outs via their Django admin.

As these mailing lists grow what sort of capacity limits will I reach?

If it approaches webfaction's soft limit of average 500 emails per day, how can I purchase additional mail server capacity?

Note that I am reluctant to use 3rd party bulk email services since it needs to be tightly integrated with the websites.

We can increase the limit to our discretion based on the content of the message. As long as it fits within our Acceptable Use Policy

http://www.webfaction.com/legal/aup

If you submit a support ticket with the body of one of these messages and a request to increase the limit with how many per day you plan on sending we can discuss it with you and if approved increase the limit. There is no charge for this service, the limit is mostly in place to fight SPAM.
