I originally had a smtp server set up on my home computer, and had a dyndns.com domain name pointing to it so I could receive email. I'm trying to get the emails forwarded to my webfaction server instead. I pointed the dyndns account to forward to my webfaction server ip address, but I'm still not getting email sent to it. I added the domain under domain and added a catchall email mailbox to it. I tried sending to a script and forwarding to another email address, but I don't think the emails are getting through in the first place. Is there something else I was supposed to do or something I'm missing?

Hi,

When you say you "pointed the dyndns account to forward to my webfaction server ip address" you mean you pointed your domain 's MX entry to your web server?

If yes, then that is incorrect and you need to point it to your MX servers as shown here:

http://docs.webfaction.com/user-guide/domains.html#using-your-own-name-server

Hope that helps!
