I'm loading some pages of my django site from wordpress, which works fine, but in the past few weeks it got really slow. Even if I use wget on the webfaction server the domain name lookup takes about 10 seconds. Probably the easiest way to fix this would be to just use another DNS like 8.8.8.8, but I couldn't figure out whether that's even possible on webfaction. Or could I just use some local IP to get to the django site, which btw is another app under the same account?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry about this! There was a problem with the resolving DNS configuration on your shared server. We've just fixed that, so your DNS lookups should be fast again.

Regarding changing the resolving DNS servers yourself, you can't do that since you don't have root access on your shared server.
