Just bought the BackupBuddy plugin for Wordpress last night and this morning found out that it is incompatible with sFTP, which I believe is what WebFaction requires. Is there a way to switch away from sFTP or did I just waste $52 on a plugin that I can't use?

Got this back when I contact BackupBuddy support:

Hi,

BackupBuddy does not support sFTP so if that is the only connection method that your ftp server supports then it cannot be used with BackupBuddy.

You might want to check with your host support whether they support outgoing ftp connections because in this case their server is trying to make an outgoing connection to your server. If they are blocking then they may be able to unblock a specifc address for you.

BackupBuddy does not support passive mode.

Please let us know if this information helps you resolve the problem, thanks.

We allow outgoing FTP (both passive and active) and SFTP connections from our servers.

Can you update your question by specifying the exact error/behaviour you are getting?
