Hi!

I want to develop in my local environment using the same server configuration as you offer in your servers, so… do you have any kind of VirtualBox/VMware image ready to download?

Thanks!

No, we have no VM images. You don't really need to replicate the entire server setup for local development - if you can tell me the type of application that you're developing (language, framework, db, etc) then I can give you some direction for local configuration.

  • Language: PHP
  • DDBB: MySQL
  • Multiple virtualhosts needed (so I can't use the MAMP)
  • Cache: memchached
  • Framework: http://sifo.me
  • Possible future needs: Sphinx & Redis

  • Local dev enviroment: Mac OS X Mountain Lion

Thanks!

memcached:

[root@web317 ~]# memcached -h
memcached 1.4.4

If you install those items at the same versions on your development machine, I don't believe you'll have any noticeable differences compared to your server

We don't provide sifo, redis, or sphinx, so for those items just install whatever versions you plan to use.

Alright! Thanks for all!

Is this still the case? I'm sure a lot of people would love to get setup with this to develop locally before deploying.

This is still the case - we do not provide VM images.

@seanf Thanks. Would be a great feature enhancement for the service.
