WebFaction
Community site: login faq

I have created secondary ssh user account in webfaction and given it permissions for a specific webapp directory. I have added a symlink to this directory in secondary user's home. As elaborated here: http://docs.webfaction.com/software/general.html#granting-access-to-specific-users. Now when I login as secondary user, cd into specific django webapp, I am not able to import django from python2.7 shell. The error says: ImportError: No module named django.core.management

When logged in as main user, in django app, django.file in python shell shows: /home/<username>/webapps/<django_app>/lib/python2.7/django/init.pyc

How to give all django permissions to secondary user as well?

Hi, You just need to add the path where Django is installed to PYTHONPATH in your secondary user's environment. For example:

export PYTHONPATH=/home/<username>/webapps/<django_app>/lib/python2.7/

You can also try running:

python2.7 manage.py shell

I hope this helps!
