I may install PostgreSQL or MySQL privatew instance. How do the memory requirements compare? I'm sure there is enough disk space for that not to be an issue.

Assume a low traffic website if that affects the answer!

The memory usage of those instances depends highly on how utilize those. It can go from 20-30 MB to a few hundred.

Ok. But I want to know whether one is known to be more memory intensive than the other.

Ah, sorry for misunderstanding your question. In my experience, PostgreSQL has used less memory than MySQL.
