WebFaction
Community site: login faq

Hello people, I need help again deploying my app to webfaction, it's actually a Django app. So I've watched the logs, and this is the error I get:

raise ImportError("Could not import settings '%s' (Is it on sys.path?): %s" % (self.SETTINGS_MODULE, e)) ImportError: Could not import settings 'project/settings' (Is it on sys.path?): Import by filename is not supported.

So, my app lives in /home/<username>/webapps/<my_app> my wsgi.py and settings.py live on /home/<username>/webapps/<my_app>/project

and on wsgi.py I have this line, the one that fails:

> os.environ.setdefault("DJANGO_SETTINGS_MODULE", "project/settings")

I realized my mistake:

os.environ.setdefault("DJANGO_SETTINGS_MODULE", "project/settings")

should be:

os.environ.setdefault("DJANGO_SETTINGS_MODULE", "project.settings")
