I installed WordPress version from the admin and was surprised to find that updating them was to be done from the same WP Administration panel instead from the admin panel.

Is there any way to make the admin panel reflect what is actually installed and not the original version I installed? I find it very unnerving that the admin site is telling me that I'm using an insecure version despite the fact that I'm not

At present, there is no way to change the version that is displayed in the control panel. It will always show whatever version number was originally installed. You can always see your current WordPress version in the WordPress dashboard.

Any update on this issue?

It is distracting to see UNSECURE every time I am looking that the Application list.

I would really appreciate it if I could enter my own text for the description.

No, there are no updates. We have no plans to change behavior at this time.
