I notice that recent versions of nginx (1.3) now support websockets: http://nginx.com/news/nginx-websockets.html

Do you have any timelines available for when you might be upgrading nginx and providing webfaction users with this option? The advantage of using nginx for both HTTP and WS is in potentially simplifying the custom application architecture and avoiding issues with corporate firewalls, so it would be really nice if webfaction offered to support this feature.

Nginx 1.3.x is the development branch of Nginx. When the stable branch finally supports websockets, we'll upgrade at that time.
