In my FireFox (Aurora , 23.0a2) 3rd Party embed content was blocked because its being served from a http url while my url sits on https. Even Chrome showed a lot of warnings but showed the content.
The only reason why we went for https here was because this is an FB app which requires https - I think this is mandatory when viewing https://facebook.com.
Are newer versions of browsers going to block non-https content on a https page?

It is standard for browsers to want all content on the page be secured to stop man-in-the-middle attacks. You will need to modify the code of the app to adjust the URL of all content based on the URL the user requested.
