Just have a few questions pertaining to the running of a Call of Duty game server before possibly upgrading my account to a 1GB plan + dedicated IP

1) Is it even allowed to run a CoD dedicated server on webfaction hosting? Assuming it remains within RAM and bandwidth limits. (Is their a limit to cpu usage?)

2) Is it possible to request a certain custom port be assigned and opened rather than a random one (28960 to be specific)?

3) Would running the game server on a 1GB plan and running a map download mirror on a 256mb plan (to keep them on different machines) be a violation of point #12 on the AUP? (The second server would do nothing but provide http access to download files, no website)

Storing material on our servers that is not for the primary purpose of hosting a website, and associated email functions. This includes, without limitation, storing backup data unrelated to your websites and emails or storing personal music or video collections.

As long as your processes don't cause problems on the server, then feel free to run it. We throttle CPU usage based on overall demand.

2) Is it possible to request a certain custom port be assigned and opened rather than a random one (28960 to be specific)?

Open a ticket it to request it. If it's available, we'll assign it to you.

You're probably safe there. "http access to download files" is technically a web site, and your game server is related to that.

Sounds good, will likely be upgrading within a month or so.
