I need to port a mysql database with a few views to a new machine, using mysqldump per the server migration how-to.

The dump fails at the point that it hits the first view, e.g.

mysqldump: Couldn't execute 'show create table `__XView`': Lost connection to ``MySQL server during query (2013)

I'd rather not delete the views and then recreate them by hand. Any other options? The mysqldump documentation suggests I need SHOW VIEW privileges, which I don't have.

We can execute this database dump for you, just open a support ticket.

On the import side, you should be able to import it normally into the shared MySQL server, but if that doesn't work, a private MySQL instance would certainly work and possibly be preferable.
