How can I give myself permission to open my home directory via ftp so I can see my webapps folder? I would like to access this folder via FTP but permission is denied.

I have tried. chmod -r 777 home and I get "operation not permitted"

Okay so I guess what I needed to do was change my remote path in my FTP settings to home/myusername/webapps. Now I can see the contents of my webapps folder via ftp.
