I am at a loss on how to connect Dreamweaver to subversion. Can some one please point me in the right direction? I have the subversion app installed. Using Dreamweaver CC.

Thanks Greg

The general procedure for using Dreamweaver with Subversion is described here:

https://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/using_subversion_pt1.html

This guide describes using Subversion as a tool that doesn't directly integrate with Dreamweaver; you're just using Dreamweaver to make a local clone of the respository for your application, edit the files, and then commit the changes. This means that this workflow is compatible with any version control system.

An example of using a version control system to manage a Static or PHP application is available in this related community post: http://community.webfaction.com/questions/13343/managing-wordpress-with-git. This shows in complete detail how to commit and manage an application using git.

The workflow of using Dreamweaver with Subversion would be similar. You would first commit your existing site files to your subversion app as an initial commit, and then wipe your application directory and check it out from the subversion repository (and likely you'd want to mask the .svn directory in .htaccess). Then, make a local checkout of the same repository and edit the files with Dreamweaver, making and committing changes. Then, you'd update the webapp files from the subversion repository to deploy the changes. Hope that helps!
