It seems I am able to delete the contents of folders under 'home/{my-name}/', but not their contents. I've changed folder permissions(cascading) to 777 but they still won't delete.I want to clean up a bit... Any ideas?

Which folders exactly? Some folders (such as webapps and logs) are owned by root and cannot be deleted.

They are custom folders that I created that contain apps that I symlink. It seems like I can delete some, but not all of the folder structures. Its really strange.

It's not possible to tell why you are unable to delete a directory with the info you've provided.

Please open a support ticket so we can take a closer look to your home directory.
