I just created a new cherrypy app called dog.

in ssh I ran

~/webapps/spotipy/autostart.cgi

if I go to my site <username>.webfactional.com/dog, I should see the default page with the words "Hello, this is your default site." on them as in the site.py file.

However, I get a "404 Not Found: nginx" error. My regular website works fine at <username>.webfactional.com and it seems to be just the cherrypy app not working.

Do i need to restart the nginx or something? And if so, how?

There's not really enough information here to assess the problem; it sounds like you may have not mounted your application at the /dog URL (ensure it's not mounted at the root "/"). If that still doesn't work then please log a ticket with us and we can assist further. Wayne K | WebFaction Support
