Our website requires email to be sent for it to function (when people sign up, when they contact each other through the site, etc) - however we've been having a lot of reliability issues with the Webfaction SMTP server. I get regular error messages sent to me that contain a SMTP Timeout error - but my guess is there are quite a few more that don't even get sent because of the very problem they are trying to alert me of. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to improve this? Or should I be looking at something like Mandrill? asked 09 Oct '13, 12:57 condredge |
We've just identified the cause of a recurring load spike on the SMTP server that is causing these timeouts. Our system admins are working on the issue now and hope to have it resolved in the next few days. Sorry for the trouble - Please let us know if you need anything else. answered 09 Oct '13, 13:01 seanf awesome news, thanks guys!
