WebFaction
Community site: login faq

Hi, I have a bunch of sites on a shared host. Considering a migration to webfaction, but not sure how much hard work this might be.. Any recommendations? Tutorials on how to do this kind of migration?

Cheers!

I moved a Drupal site from a cPanel hosting account to Webfaction last week. I copied everything manually (DB, mailboxes, code) through Web UI and git (without any automation) and it obviously took a while. I've not seen anything on the community site about automating migration.

FWIW I'm really happy with the move to Webfaction. Service is good and I'm using ruby and node.js apps that I couldn't have had on my cPanel account.

We have some info about this in our documentation: Moving to WebFaction from Other Hosting Providers
