I am still trying to get my head around the way email is handled on Webfaction. Specifically Mailboxes and Email addresses. For example: I will need to set-up 10 emails for supreme.com : one@supreme.com two@supreme.com etc. Each email user requires privacy and their own password. Do i create a mailbox for each person ? i.e. ONE_SUPREMEBOX , TWO_SUPREMEBOX etc. Or do i create SUPREMEBOX and then assign each user to that mailbox? Doing this would make it easier to manage when you have thirty sites, i.e. one MAILBOX for each site and then assign e-mails to that box. but does each email remain private doing it thus? if its one_box = one@supreme.com it can get pretty complicated to manage i would think. Thanks and apologies for being so thick on this asked 09 Dec '13, 15:05 baba |
If you want each user to have private email with their own password, then you need to create a separate mailbox for each address. answered 09 Dec '13, 17:25 seanf OK. Thanks! it's counterintuitive to have an email address and a mailbox. but it is what it is. I think i'll name all the mailboxes in the form of domain_user in order to keep them organized together by domain.
