Community site: login faq

When I signed up with Webfaction in May 2013, I was instructed by another Webfaction customer to add a subdomain via the "Add new application" button, and then "Add new website", which seemed to work fine. I haven't gone public with the sites yet (but soon will), so I don't know how they'll do on the Web in their current configuration. Today I wanted to add another subdomain, but couldn't remember the process. While I was trying this & that, I tried the "Add new domain" button, and it was added to the list of subdomains I already had, that were created via the other method. This confused me, and I'm now wondering which is the proper way to create a subdomain? Some advice and direction would be much appreciated. :)

Both ways are correct, the first method is just a shortcut, they both create the same kind of domain object.
