I followed these instructions to run a private Apache instance, but I was wondering: how is it possible to set up php.ini flags and values? I'm specifically interested in changing the default upload size, so I tried to follow the .htaccess method mentioned in the PHP guide, but it didn't work. The instance doesn't seem to be have php5_module, and php_value fails. I'm on server 48.

Found the answer here. Adding the following line to httd.conf in VirtualHost would do it:

SetEnv PHP_INI_SCAN_DIR "/this/vhosts/php/ini/folder"
