Good morning everybody. I've been checking webfaction's prices and I have a question about them. New account: $9.5 Disk Space 100GB Bandwidth 600GB Application memory 512MB If I want to upgrade to double, I have to pay +$27/monthly Disk Space $10 Bandwidth $10 Application memory $7 My point is that I can easily open 2 accounts in the same server and link them, for example, opening a port via localhost (blocked for external requests) to avoid bandwith consumption. What am I losing? asked 29 Aug '14, 09:25 davidvld |
You could certainly save money by having two accounts if you need add ons for all services, however there is no guarantee that both accounts would be on one server. The other benefit to having two plans on different servers is redundancy and fail over if there is a problem with one server. answered 29 Aug '14, 11:17 aaront ♦♦ I've read that if you open a ticket you can ask for a specific server, but I don't remember the source or whether was a good one. Anyhow, even if they are in different servers, it's easy to connect both of them.

Requests to be placed on the same server generally would be honored unless the server is already full and no additional users can be added to the server.
