Hi,

I would like to use the django-imagekit within my django-project (1.6.6).

I have problems to install PIL with python3.4 - the instructions within the support forum covers python2.7 but I use 3.4 and ran into compile problems.

Any suggestion?

regards, Schnipp

The process is pretty straight forward and should mirror a python2.7 install. I installed via pip and then it was simply installing django-imagekit. Of course you may need to install PIL or Pillow first.

Both PIL or Pillow should install fairly easily. Please feel free to open a support ticket or respond to one if you have any further issues.

Good afternoon Schnipp

As Aaront said, via pip is the best and easiest solution.

First you have to create a virtual environment. Python 3.4 comes with its own, so its even easier than any other version.

Check this post for a step by step Python 3.4 tutorial:

Tutorial Python 3.4 virtual environment

After step 6 you can make pip install Pillow.

Good luck
