Hello,

I would like to install gitlab on my webfaction account but I can't find any documentation on it. I think this is something that a lot of people already did and I suppose it shouldn't be too hard but all the tutorials I found say their method is outdated.

I also found the bitnami gitlab installer, is this something that I could use?

Thanks

You would have to build it from source code, the bitnami installer requires root access which you can not have. GitLab is not exactly 'source code install friendly', their install page only provides RPMs and packages, and they shy away from providing source code bundles, the only one being their GitHub page. which means you won't find a perfect guide on it, and if we write one it is going to change. You should start with the Installation methods page and read all of the info under 'Community Installation Methods'
