My specifically named subdomains resolve to their targetted applications ok. How do I catch requests to subdomains that don't exist (yet / mistyped)? I don't think I want a Wildcard Subdomain - unless it is overridden by the presence of named domains. New user to Webfaction, so I might have missed the obvious! Thanks. asked 03 Oct '14, 11:15 euwebber |
A wildcard subdomain is overridden by named subdomains, so that's what you should use. Just add the wildcard as a new subdomain, then assign it to a site along with whatever app you want the site to serve. answered 03 Oct '14, 16:13 seanf Great, that has fixed it. I should have looked more closely at the hits I got with an early search 'wildcard subdomain' - they seemed to suggest a wildcard subdomain was to be avoided, or suggesting a Support Ticket was required.
