When running a Mongo DB do we have access to the oplog?

Yes, since you would run the entire MongoDB instance under your home directory, you would have access to the oplog and all other collections related to your instance.

Note that the default size of the oplog may be larger than you'd like. You can limit the size of the oplog if needed.
