WebFaction
Community site: login faq

I've read pages of google results about how to do this and tried probably 6 different methods but I just cannot get PHP application to use git support.

I don't have any issues just setting up a remote repo on Webfaction, the problem I have is making the PHP app itself a repo or influeced by a repo.

All I want to do is be able to make pushes to the webfaction PHP application from my client machine.

I've tried creating bare repos in the webapp folder but I could never connect to them via ssh from my client machine. I always get error msgs about it not being a repo.

I've tried creating a bare repo in another folder and then symlinking it to the PHP app folder (webapps/phpappname) but the symlinks don't actually get created.

Is there anyone out there that can point me to docs that just cover a simple PHP app being used with git?
