If not what other light weight GUI editors are available on shared servers?

You can't run desktop-style GUI apps on our servers.

The following console-based text editors are available:

  • vim
  • emacs
  • nano

Another thanks. I can make do with nano. I'm doing dev and testing in the world of the evil empire using notepad++. That limits my editing needs on the server. So far Go code has compiled with zero changes after copying to the server.
