Yes, you can use SSLMate on WebFaction servers.

First, you'll need to install SSLMate by following the "Other" operating system instructions in the Getting Started with SSLMate guide, with a couple of tweaks:

  • Use cpanminus instead of cpan on step 2.
  • Use "make install PREFIX=$HOME" for step 3.

After you've purchased a certificate with SSLMate, you'll then need to open a support ticket to have us install the certificate for you.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for that and sorry I wasn't clear. I didn't get any errors on the install, it was just when I tried to run the sslmate commend. But, I figured out a work aournd and now I just need to figure out the new process for applying a cert (my first one since it got added to the dashboard.)

Is this the current advice? I followed it and get this after an sslmate buy:

Can't locate SSLMate.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/local/share/sslmate/perllib

I was able to run it as your user without an error using the following,

 1003  2017-02-27 22:22:51 wget https://packages.sslmate.com/other/sslmate-latest.tar.gz
 1004  2017-02-27 22:22:57 tar xzvf sslmate-latest.tar.gz
 1006  2017-02-27 22:23:01 cd sslmate-1.5.1/
 1007  2017-02-27 22:23:16 cpan URI Term::ReadKey JSON::PP
 1008  2017-02-27 22:23:33 make install PREFIX=$HOME
