My currently installed version of gitweb is: Git 1.7.4.1 - DISCONTINUED

How can I upgrade it to the latest version?

Thanks!

You basically just move your repos and config into a new app:

  1. Make a backup copy of your existing git app directory.

  2. Create a new git app in the control panel.

  3. Delete the repos and authentication stuff from the new app: rm -r ~/webapps/new_git/{auth,repos,.htpasswd}

  4. Copy your repos and config from the copy of the old app into the new app: cp -r ~/webapps/old_git/{auth,repos,.htpasswd} ~/webapps/new_git/

  5. Edit your site to serve the new Git app instead of the old Git app.

  6. Wait a minute or two for the site change to take effect.

Hope that helps!
