Hi,

I'm running a few sites for non profit organisations who asked me to minimise their costs, still for certain services I prefer to use HTTPS connections. I've found a few free ssl certificate creators, but renewing the certs each year is quite demanding, and I would be happy if Webfaction could optimize this whole process somehow.

Recently, I came across https://letsencrypt.org/ and thought it would be nice if Webfaction could support some similar tool. Of course, I would still need to take some action to do the renewal, but it could be integrated into the Webfaction infrastructure. Moreover, adding proper certs to Webfaction clients might provide some business value as well before the competition copies it too.

Are there any plans to offering a service like letsencrypt integrated into Webfaction?

Though I agree it would be really nice, at this time we have no plans to integrate something like this. Perhaps when there is more demand from our customers we can look further into it. WebFaction is always looking at new ways to improve the customer experience. That said, I've made an internal note of your request. Thank you for the suggestion :)

can we get an uodate on the status of making all sites https secure so that Google's Chrome doesn't punish us?

There was talk of Webfaction making this process automatic?

"I look forward to the process of automation that has been announced by Webfaction since June".
