I'm using MySQL WorkBench to query the MySQL instance I installed in home. I just noticed today that there seems to be a cap on the length that queries are allowed to run - anything over 30 seconds times out.

This wasn't the case a week or so ago. Is this something new?

We do not impose any limits on the software you build and maintain directly, only on the resources you use. Are you certain the app is not using to much CPU or memory and thus is being killed? You would receive warning if any of these actions were performed. You may also submit a support ticket and we can investigate.
