Im trying to transfer a file from the old server to the new server via FTP over SSH.

[username@webxx]$ wget --ftp-user=username --ftp-password=password ftp://new-server-IP/webapps/appID/somedata.gz
--2011-02-07 02:03:37--  ftp://new-server-IP/webapps/appID/somedata.gz
           => `somedata.gz'
Connecting to new-server-IP:21... connected.
Logging in as username ... Logged in!
==> SYST ... done.    ==> PWD ... done.
==> TYPE I ... done.  ==> CWD /home/username/webapps/appID ... done.
==> SIZE somedata.gz ... done.
==> PASV ... done.    ==> RETR somedata.gz ...
No such file `somedata.gz'.

Finally it shows no such file.

Hi,

The best way to do this is to use rsync:

rsync -avz filename username@otherserver.webfaction.com:.

Then you can move it, or play with the path so that you can put it right where you want it.

Rsync is usually much, much faster at moving files than FTP.
