I cannot access my Wordpress database remotely from Apache localhost machine. I would like to map my localhost wordpress instance to my database hosted on webfaction server. In My wp_config I have...

// MySQL settings - You can get this info from your web host // /* The name of the database for WordPress /
define('DB_NAME', 'user_wp_wp');
define('DB_USER', 'username_here');
define('DB_PASSWORD', 'password_here');
define('DB_HOST', 'webXX.webfaction.com');
define('DB_CHARSET', 'utf8');
define('DB_COLLATE', '');

External access is not enabled for your database. You can use an SSH tunnel to connect remotely, as shown here:

http://docs.webfaction.com/user-guide/databases.html#accessing-a-database-remotely

Or, you can open a support ticket and we can enable external access to your database.
