Community site: login faq

Hi people,

I'm trying to setup my webfaction mailbox with Nylas N1 email client, selecting:

  1. IMAP / SMTP Setup
  2. Name: my name, Email: my email
  3. Configure incoming email: IMAP server: mail.webfaction.com Port: 993, SSL: check, username and password retrieved form my.webfaction.com
  4. Configure outgoing email:SMTP server: smtp.webfaction.com Port: 465, SSL: check, username and password retrieved form my.webfaction.com
  5. Add account, -> shows: Error connecting to the server.

I've tried serveral times in the last week, also double checked the credentials, server hosts, and ports, creating a new account on mozilla thunderbird and Kmail, both in the same computer, without problems. It doesn't work only with n1 app.

Anyone with the same problem?

This issue has been solved. it was a N1 backend's issue.

I've received an email from Nylas Team and test it today, and now it works.

I tried configuring Nylas N1 myself and had the same problem. Based on the number of people reporting the same issue here, I'd say it's a bug in Nylas N1.

@seanf I submitted the problem here: https://github.com/nylas/N1/issues/1292 and was closed because is duplicated with this one: https://github.com/nylas/N1/issues/1288 .And yes, it looks like the problem is on N1 side and the guys are working on it.

Nylas reported that the bug is resolved.

I tested it myself, and had a generic connection error on the first attempt to add my WebFaction account, but the second attempt succeeded.
