I'm hosting my email on Webfaction and when my email address is used in Gmail it is flagged as unsecure.

See article about Gmail "Padlock alert" http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-3440424/Gmail-boosts-security-padlock-alert-Feature-warns-users-emailing-accounts-unsafe.html

Can anyone tell me what this means and if there is anything I can do to make my email more secure?

There's nothing you need to do on your end. We're making the necessary changes to ensure that mail will be transmitted securely to recipient servers that support it.
