Can anyone direct me on how to install basemap, a module of matplotlib? I want to install it within a webfaction django site. This module is not easily installed by pip, or easy_install.

Thanks, Walter walter@snowbears.org

Actually, it's pretty simple to install basemap with pip:

mkdir -p ~/lib/python3.4
pip3.4 install matplotlib
pip3.4 install http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/matplotlib/matplotlib-toolkits/basemap-1.0.7/basemap-1.0.7.tar.gz

Hope that helps!
