Possible to set this up? Seems they are using cloudflare, but there is conflicting information on whether I can point the domain or not without changing my nameservers.

I currently have a subdomain added to my webfaction account, amazonbrandregistry.onlineigniter.com and added a cname to target.clickfunnels.com

But I get a cloudflare error page when I access my subdomain

Can I add a records and make it work?

We need to know the domain name you are trying to setup.

Either update your question with it or https://help.webfaction.com/ a ticket and we can have a look at it

Since we are not the NS providers our control panel settings will not apply, our NS servers must be in the NS records for us to manage other DNS records,

$ dig cname  amazonbrandregistry.onlineigniter.com

Does that mean no, then?

(15 Jan '17, 18:07) Paddy Martinez

Since onlineigniter.com is not using our name servers then creating a subdomain and A record in our Control Panel would have no impact.

You would need to contact your DNS provider and perform those actions.

But the domain is using webfactions nameservers?

(16 Jan '17, 03:20) Paddy Martinez

Domain is registered with namecheap and the nameservers are ns1.webfaction.com etc...

Hosted by webfaction.

The documentation you linked says that the described method is the only supported method, and it includes changing the name servers.

The error produced when accessing amazonbrandregistry.onlineigniter.com shows that CloudFlare is not able to resolve the hostname. I guess, that it needs the CloudFlare name servers to have an entry for the hostname.

The documentation also says that:

In some cases it is possible to add a CNAME to your existing DNS host and point it to target.clickfunnels.com, but we cannot guarantee that this will work, neither can we provide support for it if it does not work.

This suggests that simply setting the CNAME most probably will not work. You may need to change the name servers for the domain name, replicating the DNS records on CloudFlare.
