Recently there has been an update from Web520 to Web567 servers which Webfaction says that are better. In what context are better-faster etc? I am just curious about that change. Nothing more! asked 23 Feb '17, 10:03 nik |
The most visible difference are the hardware specs. Web520 had 8 3.50GHz cpu cores, with 32GB of RAM installed, while Web567 is equipped with 32 cpu cores @ 2.60GHz and 128GB of RAM. Despite the massive power increase, we do not plan to increase the number of hosted accounts on each server by the same factor. Also, the new servers are not leased by a 3rd-party (SoftLayer in Web520's case), but located in the datacenter of our parent company, where we will have faster support and communication from the technicians there, responding better to hardware or network issues. answered 23 Feb '17, 11:12 iliasr ♦♦ We do not have such plans at the moment, as far as I know.

that's great. since you have increased the server's RAM but not the hosted accounts on each server, will Webfaction offer any free upgrade to shared-plan's RAM from 1GB to at least 2GB? answered 02 Mar '17, 05:16 Webb123 |
