Anyone had any luck setting up phpbb and sending email? I'm using smtp, port 465 and my email box.. but no luck.
Any idea? Thanks.

Our servers now support sendmail, so this is the "easy" way to send email from PHP. If your phpbb uses the PHP mail() function, it should work "out of the box".

That said, SMTP is still preferred. Here is a good reference on the SMTP ports and settings for all applications:

If your phpbb supports SSL email, then you will want to use port 465 as mentioned, but if it does not, we would suggest trying port 25. Here is an example of sending email from PHP in general:

The important thing to remember is that the "username" is a valid WebFaction mailbox, the password is the mailbox's password, and the "From" email is configured within the WebFaction Control Panel.
