The documentation says that I can make a custom application (hookbox) that listens on a certain port for HTTP requests. Does that mean literally only HTTP requests? I would like to use WebSockets which use TCP, but not HTTP. Can I do that? Thanks! asked 28 Oct '10, 13:05 Adam |
If you need external access to your custom application's port for something other than HTTP, then you need to do the following:
If you'd like to proceed with that, please use our upgrade form to order your IP and let us know your port number so we can adjust the firewall. Hope that helps! answered 28 Oct '10, 13:37 seanf So no dedicated IP, no WebSockets :(

We now open ports without a dedicated IP on your account. We have 1 IP reserved for opening ports per machine. Open a support ticket requesting the port opened and we can do this for you.
