I'm trying to follow the instructions here to install GeoDjango https://docs.djangoproject.com/en/2.1/ref/contrib/gis/install/

I'm running into a lot of issues and questions: 1. I checked the PostGIS add-on on the Database settings in the dashboard. Does this also install the geospatial libraries? If so, how do I set my project to use them? 2. If not, I can't install them because I don't have "apt-get", and I can't use sudo to build the source files?

Are there step-by-step instructions on how to install this somewhere? Thanks.

  1. It does not install python modules, it only modifies the database.
  2. easy_install or pip or manually from source, you don't need sudo to install modules or build from source if you specify user paths at build time read the README file provided with a given package for more info.
