WebFaction
Community site: login faq

Apparently this has been requested more than 7 years ago (and likely much longer since when the old forum existed), so I would like to ask again:

Is there a way to disable unsecure FTP access for a webfaction account?

Sending username and password in clear plain text should be something disabled by default at this time and age already.

SFTP would be of course still accepted.

Thank you.

Thanks for the feedback.

At this time we don't have any plans to disabled regular FTP. We might be able to make an exception for cloud servers, so those who have one can open a ticket if they want. Otherwise, it's use can simply be avoided.
