WebFaction
Community site: login faq

Hi, I've read all the documentation and threads available and I could not find my answer. I hope someone might have a tip or has seen this before. Maybe I'm just missing something. My issue:

  1. I have an existing website (simple static web)
  2. It is connected to two domains one with www. and one without. No wildcard.
  3. I switched this to a secure site via let's encrypt in the control panel.
  4. The site immediately disappeared and began serving the "default webfaction coming soon" page.

I switched it back to non-secure which resolved the issue. But i'm not sure what i'm doing wrong or exactly why this is happening.

Thank you very much

Please check our documentation regarding secure sites.

You need to have two website entries in our panel, one for http and one for https.

If you've just switched an http site to https, instead of creating a new one, our server will only respond to https requests.
