Hi,

I am attempting to serve my django admin static data on my webfaction server and having no luck at all. I have followed all tutorials and found some old forum entries (http://forum.webfaction.com/viewtopic.php?pid=18151 which talk about permissions, but I am still getting a 403 error when trying to acccess my django admin static media files.

http://www.richarddowsett.com/media/admin/css/base.css

Here is what I have done so far: Set up a symlink from ~#/webapps/django_admin to ~/webapps/django/python...../admin/media Set up a view on my website entry in panel.webfaction.com which links django_admin to /admin/media I have also tried using setfacl but with no luck:

[rdowsett@web179 webapps]$ getfacl django_admin/ getfacl: Removing leading '/' from absolute path names file: home/rdowsett/webapps/django/lib/python2.6/django/contrib/admin/media owner: rdowsett group: rdowsett user::rwx user:apache:r-- user:nginx:r-- group::r-x mask::r-x other::rwx

Do you have any suggestions on how I can solve this?

ngnix requires execute permissions in order to view the contents of your directory so just add the ACLS needed:

setfacl -m d:u:nginx:r-x ~/webapps/django_admin
permanent link

I actually had to run the command: setfacl -R -m u:nginx:r-x /home/rdowsett/webapps/django/lib/python2.6/django/contrib/admin/media/

But this did the same thing of adding execute permissions for nginx so thanks for the answer.
