I understand that my server is backed up every day and backups are kept for ten days. I'm assuming this is whether I'm on web172 and below or web173 and above.

Q1: Where are these backups stored? On the same physical machine? On the same rack? In the same datacenter?

Q2: How many copies of the data exist?

Thanks -- answers to these will help me know whether to invest time in personal backups.

PS: You might update the 2 documentation pages that match the search 'backups', so that more users don't have the same questions.

Backups are stored on servers in a completely different datacenter.

We keep a 10-day history of backups, so that would be 10 copies, 1 for each day.

We always recommend that you make personal backups of anything that you really cannot afford to lose.

Hope that helps!
